The Cohort Collective

How Membership Works

Membership begins with participation.

The Cohort Collective is a thoughtfully curated community for people who want meaningful relationships, broader perspectives, and the support to move important parts of their lives forward.

Before applying, you attend two eligible experiences. You meet the people, experience the culture, and decide whether the Collective feels right for you.

A small, diverse group of adults in genuine conversation around a shared table.

Your first step

Attend one eligible Cohort Collective experience. After attending two eligible experiences, you may request access to the membership application.

What counts as an eligible experience?

Eligible experiences are clearly marked on the event page. They may include Shared Tables, selected Conversations, workshops, cultural gatherings, virtual gatherings, community reunions, and other approved public experiences.

The Philosophy

Experience the community before deciding to join it.

Before applying for membership, prospective members attend two eligible Cohort Collective experiences.

This gives you the opportunity to meet people, experience different gathering formats, build genuine connections, and decide whether the community feels right for you.

This is not an audition.

It is the beginning of a relationship.

Who It Is For

You may belong here if…

The Cohort Collective is for thoughtful, ambitious people who are building, leading, creating, exploring, or navigating a meaningful transition.

What matters most is not having everything figured out. It is being open to meaningful relationships, broader perspectives, and new possibilities.

  • You value meaningful relationships over transactional networking.

  • You are curious about people, cultures, ideas, and opportunities beyond your existing circle.

  • You are open to reflection, encouragement, and personal growth.

  • You respect different perspectives and lived experiences.

  • You want to contribute as well as receive.

  • You want relationships that extend beyond a single gathering.

Why It Matters

Most networking ends when the event does.

People attend conferences, dinners, and networking spaces. They exchange information, leave inspired, and return to daily life.

Promising conversations fade. Ideas remain stalled. Important decisions are made without a trusted perspective.

The Cohort Collective creates opportunities to return, reconnect, and build trust over time.

Two people in a quiet, attentive conversation.

You do not need more information.

You need the right people, the right environment, and a meaningful reason to stay connected.

What It Creates

What can grow over time

Membership is not valuable because of how many events appear on a calendar. Its value develops through the relationships, perspectives, and opportunities for continued participation that grow over time.

01

Trusted Relationships

Build relationships with people you expect to know beyond a single event or conversation.

02

Broader Perspective

Gain insight from people whose industries, cultures, experiences, or stages of life may differ from your own.

03

Greater Clarity and Momentum

Find trusted people who can offer honest perspective, encouragement, and thoughtful questions as you move an idea or decision forward.

04

A Sustained Sense of Belonging

Become part of a community that values curiosity, generosity, contribution, and respect.

What Membership May Include

What membership may include

  • Curated member gatherings
  • Priority access to selected experiences
  • Member pricing for selected programs and journeys
  • Small-group conversations and learning experiences
  • Invitations to cultural and community gatherings
  • Opportunities to contribute, host, teach, or facilitate
  • Member communications and community updates

Final benefits, availability, and participation details will be shared before a membership decision is required.

What Membership Is Not

The Cohort Collective is not:

  • A lead-generation service
  • An instant-access networking directory
  • A guarantee of introductions, opportunities, partnerships, or financial results
  • A space for aggressive selling or solicitation
  • A requirement to remain constantly visible or available

One Year In

One year from now

Membership should feel less like a calendar of events and more like a circle of people you know, trust, and expect to remain connected to.

  • Meaningful relationships you expect to maintain
  • Trusted people you can call for an honest perspective
  • Greater clarity or progress around something that matters to you
  • Exposure to new ideas, cultures, experiences, and opportunities to contribute

The Difference

Designed for relationships that continue

Smaller Environments
Gatherings are designed to give people room to participate, speak, listen, and feel seen.
Thoughtful Continuity
Members have repeated opportunities to reconnect across conversations, meals, workshops, cultural experiences, and community gatherings.
Shared Care
The community is guided by respect, confidentiality, curiosity, and a clear expectation that relationships are not treated transactionally.
Opportunities to Contribute
Members may share perspective, introduce ideas, support others, host conversations, or help shape future experiences.

The Journey

Your path into the Collective

  1. Step 1: Experience the Collective

Begin by attending an eligible Cohort Collective experience. Eligible experiences may include Shared Tables, Conversations, Cultural Gatherings, Workshops, Virtual Gatherings, Community Reunions, and selected public events.

  2. Step 2: Return and Reconnect

Attend a second eligible experience. Whenever possible, choose a different format so you can experience more of the community and allow relationships to develop naturally.

  3. Step 3: Request Access to the Application

After attending two eligible experiences, you may request access to the membership application. A current member may also refer you, or a community leader may invite you to apply. A referral or invitation introduces someone to the community and may begin a conversation. It does not replace participation, orientation, or mutual review, and it does not guarantee membership.

  4. Step 4: Tell Us What Matters to You

The brief application helps us understand:

    • What you are building, exploring, or working toward
    • What you hope to experience through membership
    • What perspectives, interests, or experiences you may share
    • Which gathering formats interest you
    • How you hope to participate
    • What you are seeking in your next chapter

The application is not designed to measure status, income, visibility, or professional achievement. We look for curiosity, generosity, respect, openness to different perspectives, and a genuine interest in building relationships over time.

  5. Step 5: Attend Orientation

Prospective members who move forward are invited to an orientation before making a final membership decision.

  6. Step 6: Join Through Mutual Alignment

Membership is offered when there is mutual alignment between the individual and the community. It is based on shared values, respect for the community, and a sincere interest in building relationships over time.

A referral or invitation introduces someone to the community and may begin a conversation. It does not replace participation, orientation, or mutual review, and it does not guarantee membership.

Community Care

What we protect together

  • Treat people with curiosity, dignity, and respect
  • Protect personal and confidential conversations
  • Leave aggressive selling and solicitation outside the community
  • Honor registrations and communicate when plans change
  • Help create an environment where different perspectives can be expressed thoughtfully

Stewardship

How the community is stewarded

The Cohort Collective is guided by a small Stewardship Circle that helps protect the culture, uphold community standards, support thoughtful growth, and care for the quality of the member experience.

Membership Questions

What you may want to know

What counts as an eligible experience?

Eligible experiences are clearly marked on the event page. They may include Shared Tables, selected Conversations, workshops, cultural gatherings, virtual gatherings, community reunions, and other approved public experiences.

Does attending two experiences guarantee membership?

No. Attending two eligible experiences allows you to request access to the membership application. Membership is offered when there is mutual alignment between the individual and the community.

How is attendance recorded?

Attendance at eligible experiences is recorded by The Cohort Collective. After your second qualifying experience, you will receive information about requesting access to the membership application. You do not need to track or submit proof of attendance yourself.

Does a referral or invitation allow someone to skip the participation process?

A referral or invitation introduces someone to the community and may begin a conversation. It does not replace participation, orientation, or mutual review, and it does not guarantee membership.

What happens if I attend but decide membership is not right for me?

There is no obligation to apply. The participation process is designed to help both the prospective member and the community determine whether continued membership feels right.

Do the first two experiences require a fee?

Some eligible experiences may be complimentary, while others may have a registration fee based on the format, venue, or included activities. The event page will clearly identify any cost before registration.

Are experience fees included in membership?

Some member experiences may be included, while others may require a separate registration fee. These details will be clearly communicated for each experience.

Where are experiences held?

Experiences may take place in the Washington, DC region, in other selected cities, online, or as part of hosted cultural and travel experiences. Each event page will provide the exact location and format.

Is the community open to people outside the local area?

Yes. The Cohort Collective is designed for people who value meaningful connection across cities, cultures, industries, and life experiences. Some experiences will be in person, while selected virtual and destination experiences may allow broader participation.

How long does the application process take?

Timing may vary based on application volume and orientation scheduling. Applicants will receive an acknowledgment after submitting and will be kept informed about next steps.

When will founding membership applications open?

Founding membership applications will open in phases. Eligible participants will be notified after completing two qualifying experiences and when the application process is available.

When will membership pricing be shared?

Founding membership pricing and payment details will be shared with eligible participants before orientation or before any membership commitment is required. No one will be asked to make a membership decision without first receiving clear information about costs, terms, benefits, and expectations.

How can I request accessibility accommodations?

Accessibility information will be provided for each experience. Participants may request accommodations during registration or contact the team before the event. We will communicate available accommodations and venue accessibility as clearly as possible.

What happens if I register but cannot attend?

Because many experiences are intentionally small, participants should cancel as soon as possible when plans change. Timely notice allows another person to participate. Repeated no-shows may affect access to future limited-capacity experiences.

Begin

Begin with an experience

You do not need to decide whether membership is right for you after reading a webpage.

Begin by experiencing the community.

Return because you enjoyed the people, the conversations, and the way the gathering made you feel.

Many paths. One collective.
