The Cohort Collective

Privacy Policy

Last updated August 23, 2026. The Cohort Collective is built on trust — that includes how we treat the information you share with us. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

01

What we collect

We collect only the information reasonably needed for the interaction you choose to have with us. Depending on how you engage with The Cohort Collective, this may include:

Newsletter — your email address, when you subscribe to receive stories, upcoming experiences, and opportunities from The Cohort Collective.

Contact form — your full name, email address, the topic you select, and any message you choose to share, along with a submission time recorded by our system.

Reserve Your Place (Kenya & Zanzibar) — your full name, email address, preferred occupancy, and any optional information you choose to share about yourself.

Frequently asked questions — if you ask us a question through the FAQ box on the About page, we store the text of that question only. No name, email address, or other identifying information is requested or stored with it.

02

Why we collect it

We use this information to respond to your inquiries, provide the newsletter communications you request, manage interest and registration for our experiences, communicate with you about the service or experience you asked about, and to operate and secure the website.

We do not sell personal information. Marketing and community updates are sent only to those who explicitly opt in, and expressing interest in an experience is never treated as marketing consent.

03

How your information is stored

Information submitted through our forms is stored in the website's backend database, which serves as the authoritative record of your inquiry or registration. Access is limited to those who need it to operate the Collective.

04

Contact form notifications

When you submit the Contact form, a limited notification containing your name, email address, selected topic, and submission time is sent through our transactional email provider, Resend, to our team inbox at hello@cohortcollective.tech so that we can respond to you.

Your full message is not included in that notification. The complete submission remains securely stored in our database, which remains the authoritative copy of your inquiry.

05

Administrative access

The website includes an administrative area used only by authorized administrators of The Cohort Collective, accessed through email and password authentication. Visitors are not required to create an account, and this website does not offer public member accounts.

06

Service providers

We work with a small number of service providers to operate the website:

Lovable Cloud provides our website hosting, backend functionality, database storage, and administrative authentication.

Resend delivers the limited transactional email notification associated with the Contact form, described above.

Our business email inbox is hosted by our email hosting provider.

Google Fonts supplies the typefaces used on this website. When a page loads, your browser makes a request to Google's font servers, which may include ordinary technical information such as your IP address and browser or network metadata. We do not use Google Analytics or any Google advertising technology.

07

Cookies and tracking

This website does not use advertising cookies, marketing trackers, behavioral analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party advertising scripts, and it does not embed third-party content such as videos or social media widgets.

Limited functional browser storage is used only where needed: the administrative area stores an interface preference (such as sidebar state) and authentication session data for authorized administrators. These are not used to track visitors.

We do keep a simple, anonymous count of how often the FAQ section on the About page is viewed and which questions are opened, so we can improve those answers. These counts contain no cookies, no IP address, no device or browser information, and no visitor identifier, and they cannot be linked to any individual or followed across pages or visits.

08

How we protect information

We seek to collect only what is reasonably necessary for the relevant interaction, and we protect personal information with reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards. No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so we limit access, minimize what we collect, and retain information thoughtfully.

09

How long we keep information

We keep personal information for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, and to meet applicable operational or legal needs. When information is no longer needed, it is deleted.

10

Marketing is always a choice

You will only receive marketing or community communications from us if you have explicitly chosen to receive them. Opt-in choices are never preselected, and you may withdraw your consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us directly.

11

Your choices and requests

You may contact us at any time with questions about your information, or to ask to review, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. The rights available to you may vary depending on where you live, and we will respond to requests as promptly as we can.

12

Changes to this policy

If the way we collect or use information changes, we will update this page and revise the date above.
